1K a year Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this part-time position.
This position provides technical expertise and clerical assistance in support of the North Carolina Community Colleges' Virtual Learning Community (VLC) and Technology Center located on the FTCC Campus.
Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take and manage risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Duties Essential Duties--Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare and proofread a wide variety of reports, letters, and contracts.
Assist in VLC survey deployment and data collection.
Manage usage data for annual VLC reporting.
Compose and type routine office correspondence, memoranda, and statistical reports.
Demonstrate ability to work independently.
Initiate and complete projects without excessive prompting.
Assist with the evaluation, creation, and editing of digital resources for distance learning technologies.
Assist with coordinating the vetting of learning technologies.
Support the research and creation of learning activities, simulations, and other digital assets.
Screen office and telephone callers; respond to complaints and requests for information on courses, procedures, systems, and events relating to responsibilities assigned; receive and route mail.
Establish and maintain computerized spreadsheets and data files; run reports on regular and requested basis.
Perform general clerical work and record-keeping including filing, scheduling appointments and meetings, and processing reimbursement and travel requests.
Prepare required documentation for the purchase of technologies and other supplies such as contracts, public service agreements, work orders, audio-visual requests, room requests, and purchase orders for supplies, and equipment.
Prepare brochures, flyers, and handouts for general marketing purposes.
Assist in preparing and maintaining special reports and budget information.
Verify and review materials for completeness and conformance with established regulations and procedures.
Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer for word processing; input and retrieve data and text; organize and maintain disc storage and filing as necessary.
Coordinate travel arrangements for VLC staff.
Order and maintain office supplies and maintain related records.
Correspond and distribute information and files using the College's networking system.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:
English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Office procedures, methods, and computer equipment.
Business letter writing and basic report preparation.
Software applications and electronic communications.
W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other applicable laws and standards.
Adobe Suite Learning Management Systems e-learning software Ability to:
Perform responsible and difficult clerical work involving the use of independent judgment and personal initiative.
Understand the organization and operation of the VLC and the College.
Maintain detailed and complex records and files using electronic and paper copy filing systems.
Type at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
Understand and use Microsoft Office Suite.
Operate a computer and other standard office equipment.
Work independently in the absence of supervision.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Hear audible equipment indicators and verbal communications in the work environment.
Sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
See with sufficient close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment to differentiate light/color intensity and evaluate perceivable changes in the environment.
Type with finger dexterity necessary to use a standard keyboard, (including use of number pad on the keyboard).
Minimum Qualifications An Associate's degree from an accredited college in Business Administration, Office Systems Technology, a related field, or equivalent and two years of experience using computer applications software is required, preferably in an educational setting.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
