Food Service Worker

Limited to 50 applications. Vacancy announcement will close immediately upon receiving 50 applications. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Select and place food items on patient trays as they proceed down the tray assembly line according to a regular or modified menu printed on individual tray tickets, or a patient selected menu. Transport Advance Meal Delivery System (AMOS) food cart to the patient units/wards/cart docking station. Deliver meal trays and nourishments to the patient's bed, pick up soiled trays and dishes from patient's room after each meal, return soiled trays and dishes to the dish room after meals, and transport AMOS food cart back to the main kitchen. Report the patient's comments and complaints to the supervisor or dietitian. Set up assigned station on the tray line with the correct supplies and food items and break down and clean the station after the serving period. In some work situations, prepare uncooked food items such as sandwich spreads and salad dressings. Prepare individual and bulk nourishments and special feedings for patients. Follow directions in assembling, measuring, weighing, or mixing ingredients for basic formulas and other supplemental feedings. Take nourishment inventories, replace expired bulk items, and label and distribute individual nourishments to appropriate patients or nursing stations. Provide assistance to cooks in the food preparation area by weighing, measuring, and assembling ingredients according to standardized recipes. Assist warehouse and ingredient control personnel. May retrieve computerized information/printouts to assist with tray and/or nourishment assembly, i.e. standing orders, nourishment labels, tabulated recipe lists, and other simple information to assist in meal delivery. May open and/or pan bulk food items for use on the tray line. Work Schedule:

Experience:
A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT:
Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
