Social Worker Supervisor

Responsible for submission of statistical data to the Homeless Operations Hub and the Northeast Program Evaluation Center (NEPEC) for computation Responsible for ongoing review and analysis of the data in order to enhance the quality of services provided to Veterans Compiles Operational Plans on the HCHV program's efforts to end and prevent homelessness among Veterans. Provides leadership within and outside of the VA to develop programs with VA and community partners that will better serve the homeless Veteran population Reviews and implements those clinical practices that are in accordance with the current best practices with guidance from the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation process and the Joint Commission's policies and reviews Supervision of non-licensed Social Workers toward full licensure at the highest level Observing the performance of supervisees in multiple settings and assists in increasing competences through communication, problem solving and setting up of specific plans when needed to improve competenices Responsible for oversight and tracking of medical, mental health, and substance abuse care access and follow up, as well as Veteran satisfaction and service outcomes Developing work improvement plans and recommending personnel action, as needed Assuring that licensure and re-licensure is completed on all staff as required Providing advice and counsel to workers related to work and administrative matters Establishing clear guideline and performance expectations for staff Responsible for conducting interviews and the selection of new staff members in cooperation with Homeless Program team members and the Chief of Social Work Service, Behavioral Health Service Line Responsible for conducting team meetings within the various program areas and for the overall Homeless Program Completes services Gap Analysis and Operational Plan updates as indicated Will work with a variety of agencies and staff at multiple sites to further collaboration and education related to VA resources, policies, procedures and continual building of partnering opportunities Work Schedule:

Have a master's degree in social work form a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Current state requirements may be found by going to http:

Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized as authorized by 38 U.S.C 7403(f) May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria). Grade Determinations:
In addition to the minimum qualifications , each applicant must meet the grade requirements set forth below in order to be considered Minimally Qualified at the grade level offered in this vacancy annoucement. (1) One year of experince equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in a speciality area or in administration demonstrating progressively more professional competency and judgement. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defiend curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised for licensure. (2) Licensure/Certification Individuals assigned as supervsiory social workers must be licensed or certified at the advanced practive level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. (3) Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the follwing KSA's (a) Ability to independently organize work, set priorities, and meet multiple deadlines. (b) Skill in a range of supervisory duties which includes clinical supervision, consultation, negotiation with other departments and quality improvement. (c) Ability to ensure provision of clinical social work service by supervised social workers. (d) Ability to delegate authority, manage priorities, coordinate work, and follow up on pending issues to complete duties in an accurate and timely fashion. (e) Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems, develop and implement solutions that result in efficient opeations, and use data effectively to manage workload, quality, performance, and productivity within the service. (f) Ability to provide staff training and development. References:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
